I hope everything is ok, OP! How does one know that an oven is leaking gas? Is it just the smell? After seeing this post, this is now a new feat unlocked.

How urgent is this to fix, and do you have a recommendation for a 30 inch range you like?

Why are you asking on DCUM when you should turn off your oven and top burner and call the gas company. You are an idiot!

All gas powered appliances off-gas even when not in use and are really not healthful, apart from the potential danger of larger gas leaks.

We had this issue and it was indeed a gas leak on the oven line.

As everyone is saying, call Washington Gas right now, they will turn everything off, and then you need to repair the line.

Wait to see if you need a new appliance -- you might not. But fix the gas issue today. They will come any time of day.

Call the gas company IMMEDIATELY. It is not safe for you to be in a house with a gas leak. Get out and call the gas company.

I assume you mean it's leaking gas when it's ON.

Don't use it. At all.

Call for repair.

OMG call the gas company. Now. From outside the house. Open windows. They will disconnect it and turn off that gas line safely and likely for free.

Pretty urgent if you don't want another appliance to switch on and cause a spark and blow up your house!

The gas escaping is a top tier emergency. We had a leak once that would’ve blown our entire condo away. All it takes is one cigarette, one spark from the engine in the garage, anything. Shut off the stove. Call Washington Gas to come get a reading.

Best Buy or Lowe’s/Home Depot for the stove.

to the right temperature, it just takes longer. I ventilate when I switch it on.
