OP here and I didn’t think people attached a lot of significance to the holiday, I was just trying to figure out if people would travel. 3 days is not long enough to go far enough for good skiing IMO and we usually have packed months December-January so we rarely go anywhere. But I do know a few people go.

It is an ok choice. Some people likely will be out of town or otherwise unable to attend on any date.

Some people will be out of town but others will have their usual activities cancelled. It will probably be a wash. If it's Mom afternoon some will be back from being away

Sure, no one celebrates that. But some people go skiing just because it's a 3 day weekend in winter. My kid's best friend is reliably absent for that weekend.

We would if we were in town, but we’ll be skiing

Yes we don’t celebrate Presidents’ Day! I usually sneak off to London for a winter weekend.

Yes! My kid has a birthday right around it, and the parties I scheduled on the Presidents’ Day holiday were always almost 100% attendance. Most people don’t travel for that holiday, and having something for an elementary school day off in the winter was popular.

Yep, unless your school/district turns that into a longer “February break” (ours used to) then I would expect people to be around and have no plans

Having a ridiculously hard time scheduling my 5th graders party. We have tried to stay away from 3 day weekends because people sometimes travel but it’s almost definitely going to have to be sometime that weekend. Would the Monday work? Everyone is off school and I think the aftercare is closed too.
