This! I HATE text.

Real catch up over the phone. Doesn't have to be long.

Shows you really don’t care other than 1 or 2 sentences.
A 10 minute phone call is not that hard
Texts are for quick questions and notifications

Although I prefer phone, I’m too busy, so text it is most of the time. Phone only occasionally (although this varies by friend).

Phone. I chat with people during my 45 minute commute.

Funny you brought this up - noticing more than ever the difference between people this year. I’m verbal and prefer phone. But most friends text so I go to where they are a lot of the time. But I gain such connection from voice over words (and side note some of us our fingers hurt with texting, even when use the tricks.)

I like text because we can each answer when the timing is good for us. None of us expect immediate responses but also none of us are the type that take days to respond.

We chat via WhatsApp. I don’t have the energy for phone calls.

A plug for the Marco Polo app. I do this with a group of six friends from grad school. It is a great way for a non text catch up (its videos) on your own time.

I prefer text. I don't have any friends who want to talk on the phone.

I don’t mean get togethers/plans, but communication in between.

After working a full time job, cooking, cleaning, shopping, kids, my husband, extended family, pets, etc, the last thing I want to do is talk on the phone for an hour. But a few of my friends seem to need this.

I try to guide them to text but one friend seems almost offended by it.

Thoughts?
