I love these chicken thigh marinade ideas. I'm finding thighs on sale a lot so this is a good and frugal idea.

And here’s another pretty good https://www.wellplated.com/chicken-thigh-marinade

I generally find it’s best to somewhat prepare the meat before I freeze it. I generally am not excited to just defrost plain meat but if it seems easy to cook I’m more into it.

Lately I’ve been buying chicken thighs (with bone and skin) in big family packs and them in a marinade in a good freezer bag as soon as I get home from shopping.

One marinade that works really well is this one. https://www.seriouseats.com/vietnamese-style-baked-chicken-recipe#:~:text=Place%20thighs%20in%20a%20large,and%20up%20to%204%20hours

These are great ideas. Ham and turkey are on sale.

Chicken thighs are always on sale if you time it right. I love the idea of packaging them out into a marinade of some sort. Maybe some kind of cacciatore since I always have peppers and tomatoes on the brink too.

I bought a Wegman's cook in the bag chicken cacciatore all frozen up and thought- I can do that!

Where are the sales happening? I had some boneless beef short ribs I bought a while ago and I made a braise with them. Costco will have these meaty beef shanks every now and then, and I will grab them to make Taiwanese beef noodle soup. I also buy and freeze oxtails from Costco, and make a Jamaican-inspired stew with them.

I'd buy whatever was on sale that we will actually eat. I like to freeze in individual portions or in a way that accessing an individual portion is easy. I'll typically freeze some chicken and beef that I marinate with some kind of homemade sauce so it makes prep even easier.

I love shrimp, black cod, chicken and chopped meat. Maybe you want to make some meatballs?

I have room in my freezer now that Thanksgiving is over, and I want to take advantage of meat sales right now.

What would you buy and then what would you do with it to prep before freezing, and then what would you make for meals?

I have hungry teens and husband. No lamb or seafood but anything else goes!
