My DD had what ended up being a very serious neurological disease and my pediatrician was a total jerk about it, very dismissive. Dr. Wei helped me when it should have 100% been the pediatrician. Love her forever for this. She was also recommended to me by friend who was very happy with her.

+1 DC had a strange lesion on one pupil. We saw Dr Wei for a few years to monitor and followup. It eventually went away during puberty and we no longer needed specialist care. We miss her. She is sweet, caring, patient and highly effective.

Dr Plotsky retired many years ago and referred his patients to Vicente

We also really like Kids Eye Care. I got an appointment within the week for a child with a suspected eye turn so you won't have to wait till June.

This was many, many years ago, but my son saw Dr. Stephen Glaser in Rockville. (Or maybe he saw Dr. Luck in Dr. Glaser's office?)

We were referred when he was a baby due to my history of strabismus. They saw him at ages 1, 3, and 5 (ish). He's now in college. But I recall liking both doctors very much.

My child saw Dr. Vicente when we lived in DC. He was wonderful. Go see another doctor in that practice if possible.

This guy is the GOAT. But the whole practice is great, I'd get in with any of their doctors if you need to. They let you make appointments online too.

Thanks - just tried him but apparently he only sees patients 7 and under.

Really? That must be new. We haven’t been there recently but DD was definitely older than 7 when we first started. Too bad, we liked him.

I guess he's in high demand so he started limiting new patients. I really appreciate the rec though... onward with the search!

Our go to was Dr Dankner in MD but looks like he retired.

This practice looks promising and Dr Glaser (founder, associated with CHOP) won a Washingtonian Best doctor award

Hopefully you will get more replies.

My son’s vision declined fairly suddenly, and at his eye screening appointment yesterday, they were unable to correct it with lenses. He also seems to be going color blind. It was enough for them to refer him out to seek further medical advice.

I called children’s, but apparently they’ve lost some staff recently and are recommending that people look elsewhere in the region. I would love a good recommendation for a pediatric ophthalmologist in the DC area. Prefer DC or MD due to proximity.
