Why are people from the Northeast or from abroad (eg asian, Indian diaspora) so obsessed with things being “prestigious”?

Park Potomac is a perfectly nice, affluent shopping area. The deli spots are packed with retirees every day during lunch time. The Quincy’s bar is where divorcees go flirt. The residences around it are definitely pricey, given they’re mostly condos and townhomes

The only knock against it is that it’s next to the highway. But you dont really “hang out” there, you go to a shop and leave

Somebody should tell you in case nobody in your social circle does not: you are being weird!

It’s up the street from a detention center soon a maximum security prison and 24/7 mental health facility will be added apparently

you clearly are not from Potomac then. If you think the places in Potomac are super nice etc. They are not, they are casual places that are family friendly and full of the Potomac drunks that frequent them.

It’s full of retired folks. It’s definitely not the fancy part of Potomac with the sprawling estates but it’s a perfectly nice place to live.

The townhomes that are going in are nice and the gym is pricey. During the day I read the ares as upscale.

I think it's nice. It's close to the highway which isn't great for noise. I know a lot of people who sold their big houses in Potomac and moved there after their kids moved out.

Potomac is a BIG town. It's still part of Potomac, it's just on the edge.

Rockville is not nice.

I thought “downtown Potomac” was those little strip malls at river road and falls road

Despite its name Park Potomac is in Rockville. The Potomac you are thinking about is further down seven locks rd.

I’ve been in the Harris Teeter at night and Quincy’s Bar and these places don’t exactly give off the prestigious vibe that used to come when you thought of Potomac in the 90s and early aughts.

Is Park Potomac a little off to folks or is it just me?
