A Hulken bag. Great to use as a rolling laundry hamper and to haul bulky things to the dorm. Will also come in handy with a first apartment for transporting groceries.

D26 asked for a new bathrobe, slippers & hair dryer. Also probably going to get a TwinXL blanket, laundry hamper and shower caddy.

If headed to a cold climate, winter gear + boots.

A water bottle with a filter built into it.


For the safe / lockbox - does anyone's kids have this style? I was thinking it could double for beach week

As mom to a junior in college with a HS senior....these are great suggestions, especially a "mini" safe (even more so if you sneak some cash in it!). Some universities require "secure" store for any medication prescriptions and, even if they don't, it's a good idea to lock it up.

Two additional suggestions:

* card playing games, like Phase 10, Uno, Flip 7. Yes, they can/do still play games not on their phones.
* Netflix or Hulu gift cards. Hulu in particular runs a student "special". A $25 card will last them an entire calendar year!
