Doesn’t have the connections & depth? You are very wrong.

That view alone is worth choosing Northwestern if you have a lacrosse player.

No. It is not the best reason. Facilities are important but not the ONLY reason to choose a school. Playing a D1 sport is almost like joining the military. The school "owns" you and your time.

Don't listen to this person.

Playing a college sport is not even a little bit like joining the military. Did you write this with a straight face??

Sorry, but this responses made me giggle.

Did you actually take the comment on the beauty of the view from the field house this seriously?

If kid wants to stay in Boston area, BC is super for networking and a lovely campus in a place with so many colleges.

Duke is an ACC school so how is that different from Big10. Both are power 4 conferences.

You are not going to get this information on a message board. Need to talk to athletes at those schools. Experience will vary significantly by sport and the coach. I attended Duke on athletic scholarship, and was well aware of the challenges I would face. It required a different mindset than the Big 10 schools I was offered. Neither good nor bad but just a need to prepare for the environment.

Not football or basketball. Just curious of the athletic culture.

Will vary by sport. Need more specifics. Football will be much different than cross country or baseball, tennis, etc.
