I think I missed something and the rollout of these four new options.

Last time I looked it was just A through D.

When did they release these newer options and what does each one reflect? ie H is moving Wootton to Crown and closing Wootton. What are E through G?

On the other hand, yes, a big change and some busing involved. Really not very far busing though so not sure it's that big of a deal. Pulling in some Crown feeders too, so maybe that helps a bit with the Crown community complaints they wouldn't get to utilize the school. Seems to make more sense than the hybrid option G.

Because of the close distance between Wootton and Crown, there are several current Wootton elementary schools that are closer to Crown than Woottton including Dufief, Travilah, Stone Mill. Lakewood is about a mile further from
Crown than Wootton, Fallsmead is about 3 miles further from Crown than Wootton. Cold Spring would have the largest increase in distance to the high school and even that is only 3.5 miles further to Crown than Wootton.

But Churchill is full (with kids who live in Potomac), and Crown is empty. Given what the current Wootton students are dealing with (building falling down around them!), isn’t this a good outcome?

Not necessarily a bad outcome until MCPS regional model decides to use their fake "iterative" process to decide that Crown stays in Region 5, taking the Wootton students with it.

There is no official announcement, because there has been no decision. But it is a possible scenario being added to the options.

1) Are Wootton families wanting to be moved to Churchill? 2) Churchill is one of the only schools slated to exceed capacity so there wouldn't be room for them in any case.

Wootton will become the new holding school, and the current Wootton will move permanently to Crown (plus one ES from Crown area) and change name to Crown as well.

I think that’s Crown building becoming Wootton (plus Rosemont), Crown will never exist. Guessing it would stay 4, but who knows.

I think that's just Crown being used as a holding school for a Wootton remodel. The articulation chart still says region 4.

Looks like Wootton becomes the new Crown HS (+ Rosemont ES?)

Crystal ball: does Wootton stay in the proposed Region 4 or become Region 5?
