There is also a Graduate on University Ave and if you are looking for a better priced option the Menlo Park Inn (in Menlo) and the Creekside are both good choices but not walking distance.
Thanks. I think I'm leaning toward the Westin as I wont have a car. I looked at the Graduate but a review mentioned mustiness and the last time I stayed at a Graduate, that's what I remember.
The Stanford bus system (the Marguerite) is free and picks up at the Cal Train Station which is very close to the Westin, also drops off all over campus and around PA.
Thank you!
So I can just hop on? No questions asked?

The Graduate is typical for what it is: trendy and gives a good feel for the town (but not the university).
Creekside Inn is very cute but not fancy. You'd want a car. It's close to the university and you pass a lot of shopping on the way.
I'd stay at both again, but would want a car for Creekside.

Depends on your budget. For 5 star, I like the 4S in Palo Alto or the Rosewood on Sand Hill. I’m Bay Area local so have only visited those two to see out of towners or hit the bar, but they are nice.
