I’m an official and I also help out with sending out parent signups for timers, organizing team dinners, breakfasts, etc. The team has team suits, hoodies and t shirts, and the swimmers who qualify for state will receive additional team gear. The coaches and captains organize the end of season banquet.
If your team isn’t well organized and you have the bandwidth, consider at least organizing a team dinner or two. My kid’s high school swim team is having a lot of fun, and the extra get togethers take some work, but they translate into noticeable camaraderie on the pool deck.

So I know that the HS coaches get paid a pittance. But I would have thought that there would be a team rep or parental liaisons to help them out. We don't have swim suits, we have gotten very little in the way of communications, everything seems thrown together. Is this the normal?
What do you mean by "don't have swim suits" for clarification?
My kid's team had orders placed mid-November so we could get them for our first meet, I had to pay for that. There weren't not school provided suits, if that's what you are referencing.

Anonymous wrote:Normal. Our parent reps do little and they will not allow other parents to help.
