Was just going to say this!

You mean excessive sugary sweet mediocre chocolate on a stale sugary sweet cookie base? They are mediocre beyond belief, and contrary to what some people think, not that common or popular in Baltimore. Some people really do like them but I would never put them on a good cookie platter.

-- Baltimorean and excellent cook and insufferable person.

Fixed that for you.

A specialty of your hometown may be even better by local bakery.

Never heard of guests contributing. Also never heard of store bought cookies on a cookie table. But it sounds like a really
Nice contribution.

I guess bakery cookies would be okay. Most of the cookies will be homemade.

I don’t think guests usually bring cookies? Generally the family or caterer takes care of this.

I didn't think this was usually a potluck type situation?

If they taste good it is fine. Are you sure guests are contributing? I think usually the family takes care of it.

Are store-bought cookies okay as a guest contribution if they are a specialty of your hometown? Think Moravian cookies.
