Almost all the schools in the county are good although others may argue. Langley, McLean, Oakton, Chantilly, Meridian, Madison, and Woodson are frequently nationally ranked and others are too or not far behind. FCPS is currently finishing a boundary review and plans to do so every five years after so depending on the age of your children if you have your heart set on a certain school it’s good to be as close as possible. I think you should really look for the commute to work first and then decide what school pyramids are close and of interest. Good luck!

Most high schools have sufficient AP classes to meet the need. Unless you specifically want an IB experience stay away from those high schools.

Most of the high schools are quite large and can offer a lot of HS advanced classes, either AP or IB. TJ is obviously great for STEM, but every local high school will have calculus (probably multiple levels of calc), AP chem/bio/statistics/physics, dual enrollment at NOVA/NVCC, and lots of other options. So it will really just depend on your commute and housing budget.

There are 29 high school in Fairfax County.
What is your housing budget? Where will you be working?
All schools have advanced classes. TJ is a application process that happens in 8th grade and pulls kids from this county plus other areas.

Every single high school in FCPS currently has advanced courses and an advanced track, whether it's AP or IB. Also, every middle school has honors courses.

What is your budget and what types of housing are you considering?
You can get access to advanced courses at any HS in FCPS but some schools are AP while others have IB, and some have larger cohorts of high-performing kids than others.

Depends on whether you have a commute. There are good schools in many areas. All offer Advanced Placement or IB classes--some more than others--but plenty of options.
If you have a job that requires your presence in office, then you need to take that into consideration.
Budget is also a consideration.
