Not being snarky OP, you should take driving lessons and use an older car with no cameras or assists for a while. You need to rely on your own instincts to be a confident driver. I remember one woman on here saying her accident backing up was not her fault because the camera was broken. Did not even occur to her to turn around and look. Don't rely on tech.

Those cars are not safe for you or the people around you.

The reliability is awful as well.

Use Uber instead

I always give Teslas a wide berth. Always a good chance the car or driver will do something stupid/dangerous at any moment.

I think I’m just scared of the hurtling down a highway at speed in essentially a tin can with little margin of error.

Will the latest fsd give me full visibility of changing lanes , help navigate new routes , help with parking? I’ve read it has less interventions and is significantly better.

Go to the Tesla showroom and rent a Tesla for a day. I believe it costs $60. You will get FSD and free supercharging. I recommend that you try it out. It is true that it is significantly better than it was just a short time ago. It's probably best to give yourself 2-3 days with it. It's not the same as having someone drive for you, but it's pretty good.

It may not be able to help with that. It needs to see the lane markings.

Does your current car have good headlights? Call your dealer and ask about the possibility of headlight upgrades. Check car owner forums for aftermarket recommendations. You may be able to improve on what the OEM supplied.

The way to deal with this is to drive as much as possible.

I would not rely on it. We've had our Tesla slam on the brakes suddenly for no reason on a freeway at night. Fortunately, no one was right behind us.

You need to be ready to jump in and take over with FSD. It’s not a replacement for comfort behind the wheel. But it is pretty great, and a wonderful option if you’re tired of doing a lot of driving!

The Tesla FSD has had some serious problems. I also don't think using it ad a crutch will help your anxiety and could cause problems if you have to drive a different car.

I had some trouble with driving anxiety after I hadn't driven for a while, best thing to do is just drive and you'll get through it. You'll feel better quite quickly.

I’m a nervous and underconfifent driver particularly on highways. For various reasons I will now need to drive all around the dc metro including outside the beltway.

Will getting a Tesla fsd help me with this? I’ve currently got a 2020 Honda crv with some driver assist.
