I have a couple of things I still buy or use very occasionally but mostly I use refillable spray bottles of either vinegar+ water or soap+ water, or scrub with baking soda.

Most makeup. I still use mascara and brow gel, but I've ditched foundation, eyeshadow, eyeliner, and lipstick. Good riddance!

NP-Naturetint from whole foods is infinitely superior to the other brands imo, and I've tried them all. No stink, doesn't damage hair, and such natural color too.

No. I still buy all the things I used to buy, because I only ever bought stuff I needed. And soft Kleenex are still in use at my house. Toilet paper isn't quite as smooth on the nose. I use Q tips to remove wax from the outside of my children's ears, not inside the canal; they're also useful for small crafts.

If anything, I buy more than I used to because we have more pets and they need stuff.

I stopped getting my hair cut professionally after covid started and now just go with $10 box color when the mood strikes and a giant hair clip to twist it up. I just don’t care that much anymore. (60)

Waste of time

Microwave popcorn bags are the biggest rip-off. We just put some kernels in a regular paper bag with the top folded down.

Nespresso. We do instant and it’s fine. The Nespresso is for special occasions and guests and it’s kind of nicer that way.

Fabric softener. If you're concerned about static, you can make your own dryer balls basically for free

+1 to no cling film. We just have lids for most of our containers and baking dishes.

No tissues or paper towels. No dish pods or laundry detergent, powder is a lot cheaper.

No tissues here either. I did have boogie wipes when DD was younger though. I actually think theyre great, but I digress……

I never buy greeting cards. Stopped about 20 years ago and started making my own. I enjoy it as a hobby and now I have built up supplies it’s way cheaper too.

We definitely waste paper towels. But I don't like the substitutes. I try to practice towel consumption mindfulness.

Baking soda in the fridge is also something I'm giving up on.

Dish sponges. We have a natural bristle brush and scrubber cloths
Dryer sheets, softener etc. none of that at our house.
We have tissues but maybe we don't get that sick as we don't use that many all year.
Cling film. We have a roll I bought 2 years ago. Tupperware for most things works just fine.

Is there anything you have stopped buying or realize you can live without? Like DH would use TP for tissues and stop buying boxes of tissues. Qtip quality is trash and you're not even supposed to put them in your ears anyway. Do you stop buying them? We still have 2 boxes. Im looking for examples of stuff like that. What can you or do you go without on purpose?
