They aren’t research institutions, you ass. But have amazing undergrad teaching. What does it matter if graduate school is good? My DD goes to UCLA. I went to s LAC and got a richer, more sophisticated education.

LACs are by definition not research universities. But people send their kids there because they often have high quality teaching.
Well first, we understand that a LAC will have fewer professors than a large university. And second, we trust undergraduate-focused professors to focus more on teaching than a research professor does.

LACs are by definition not research universities. But people send their kids there because they often have high quality teaching.

I'm guessing Pitt is on there for its medical research. It is surprising that Virginia Tech isn't on it.

I assume the numbers behind each list are the number of researchers on the list from that school? If so, it is wrong. I looked at UW Madison, my alma mater because I was surprised they weren't on the list. And they have 19 researchers on the list, but aren't included in the rankings. Unless this is counting something different. But I did not find a list of Universities ranked like your list.
