Math is not your friend. That is 30k more the rest of your life and each raise and 401k match is also bigger.
I switched three years ago a 40k raise
Now I have 120k extra pay
Also an extra $7,500 in 401k off matching in the 40k
I got three 4 percent raises off that extra 40k so my salary increase an extra $4,500
It is a multiplier effect.
So even 20k more at 35 is a massive amount of cash if you retire at 65
