Jennifer Nielsen was my dds' favorite for historical fiction at that age.

Also - has she read all the Kate DiCamillo books? Those books are modern classics.

My dds never got into series (except one of them is/was obsessed Warriors, which seems more niche), but they both enjoyed Sharon Draper, Lisa Yee, the rest of Dusti Bowling's books, The War That Saved My Life, and pretty much every middle grade graphic novel when they were 11.

My 5th grader has been tearing through the Track books—Ghost, Lu, Patina, Sunny and Coach.

Also loved First Rule of Punk and Turtle Boy

My daughter is that age and really liked the Lottie Brooks series. It’s British, I got it on Amazon.

Tough because we don't know what she's already read.

I might ask at a local bookstore as they often have the pulse on what's new and popular for age groups.

For older books there's Holes, Percy Jackson, Mysterious Benedict Society, Harry Potter, Enchanted Forest Series, Chrestomanci series, etc.

Has she read the Percy Jackson books or the Land of Stories books?

Hi - my daughter who is in 5th Grade/11 years old is in a book lull. I think required school reading plus sports has left less time, but she has typically loved reading. Last year and over the summer she was into books like Keeper of the Lost Cities, Dusti Bowling books (Dust, Canyons Edge, etc), Alone by Megan Freeman, and before that she was really into the Front Desk series. She's a little older now and would love to get a collection of some great choices together for her to peruse.

Any suggestions appreciated!
