I agree with all the advice so far. If you can’t find the info on their website, call! A helpful staffer will usually know the “planned” date and is generally happy to share (with the caveat it could change, fair enough for us!). We also found Admitted Students days to be more extensive and gave a better picture of the whole environment.

Remember, admissions is about you convincing them they want you/DC; admitted day is about them convincing you to actually pick them to spend your $100K+ with. 🥹

Good luck!

Yes and so fun to attend these and have the schools roll out the red carpet so to speak! Current students, professors, more are on hand to sell the school, even the ivy/elites act for once like they want you and need you.

A friend suggested that Admitted students day may be over spring break, and if our senior is divided over which college to attend, the Admitted students day could help make a crucial decision.

How important are these days? Would you not schedule a spring break because of them?

Thank you for your advice.

Admitted student days are very important for the final decision. Look up the previous dates(google) for all possible admits and figure out if spring break can work. None of the admitted days fell on spring break for us, but private k-12 does SB in March, Admitted days at least for ivy-T20-UVA are all April.

My DS's spring break his senior year was an Admitted Student Day Tour. Very fond memories of it. Of course, all of our tours were in the south , but for one cold weather one (ND). It really helped him make his decision. Strongly advised. Turn it into a vacation and make it fun. Cherish the time with you senior as they their next step.

Very helpful. My daughter was sure about her choice and after doing admitted student days and a couple schools, she promptly came home and committed to a different school, which has been a great fit.

As a parent I could see immediately which school for her best. I am so glad we didn’t skip.

Maybe you can find out the anticipated admitted students days at the schools to which your child applied. If they’re not over spring break, both could work.

I have a student currently in college and a Senior in High School.

My student did not sign up for the school spring break trip & we have not planned a family spring break trip due to the possibility of having to visit colleges in the spring after acceptances.

I strongly recommend attending admitted student days at your kid’s top choices, if possible. Kids can grow and change a lot over the year and by spring of their senior year, their preferences could be different. Admitted student days can be a valuable “tiebreaker” and can help your kid own their decision.

100% changed my DD's decision about which college to attend - they are crucial if your student is not sure where they want to go.

My college freshman went to two of them/ one was at the end of his spring break and one was at the end of April- right before the commitment deadline.

They are absolutely crucial if your senior is torn, especially between two schools. My daughter could not have made her decision last year without attending the revisits at her top two choices. I’m so grateful she did because the choice could not have been clearer once we went.

If your kid will be getting important RD decisions, and will not have a 1st choice, absolutely hold the Spring Break for visits. We had plans to visit the top 3 contenders last Spring break.

Admitted student days can absolutely help a student who is on the fence about one or two schools.
