Your kids would rather you are not financially stressed and can afford to send them to college than have a house.

Im sorry about your divorce. I know you feel like you need to move up to provide the "best" for your child.. but you need to do what is best financially.. so that you CAN provide for your children. Millions live in apartments all around the world, and as long as you provide a loving and stable home, your children are just fine. I have older kids in elementary school with a ..and this is honestly how I feel. The grass is always greener on the other side.

I'm raising my kid in a condo. We live right next to a park and the outdoor space issue really isn't a big deal once they are old enough for sports and activities. Until then it's lots of playground trips, but that's nice because they meet more kids that way.

Also plenty of people who live in townhouses and row homes don't have yards either. Our neighborhood is mostly row homes and very few people have actual yards for their kids.

We do want to move into something larger at some point, probably by MS. Having a den or basement or something would be particularly nice for when DC's friends are over. But we have time and we're saving money now living in the condo.

We’re raising our two kids in a two bedroom condo. It’ll be fine.

They do have to share a room and we don’t have much storage space, but it has brought us all closer as a family. We did have to make sure to plan outdoor time everyday when they were younger to make sure their energy had an outlet. In fact, we choose our condo based on proximity to parks and green space.

I was so relieved to move to a nicely appointed apartment with my young children. So easy to keep clean. Zero yard work beyond a low potted plant on our balcony dining table. Low utilities. Maintenance on site (better than even a good husband!). Less expensive.

We did make lots of trips to the park. And walked easily to a little market each day for a grocery item or two.


No regrets. Kids now grown. I think I was a better mom because I could focus on them and enjoying our time rather than decorating and gardening.

My kids are 4 and 7 and live in apartment half the time with their dad and they dont seem to mind at all

An apartment is fine. Zero maintenance. No need to rush into buying.

Depends on where you live. It’s becoming a buyers market in many places. Buy a house if it makes overall financial sense, not just because you feel you should host parties for your kids.

your kids are young and really won't know the difference. and the prices will go down. so, you can move in a year or two. good luck.
