I paid extra for the “organic” “green guard” certifications. I also buy my now-preschooler organic fruit 🤷‍♀️

There isn't really a difference, with the exception of possibly size (if you need a narrow one for space reasons).

have the baby bjorn and a few graco- my kids like the graco being more sturdy- the bjorn kinda swings.

that said there was a few week period when my baby wasn't going to sleep drowsy but awake but too big for the graco bassinet insert and the thought of putting them in the lower level drowsy but awake seemed impossible-- i borrowed someone's guava lotus and the ability to lay down half in it and then roll away when she fell asleep was amazing...

traveling next week and assume we'll take the graco for our 9 month old

This is what we used, because we traveled pretty constantly and the side opening was back-saving for me.

I was loaned an Arms' Reach Co-Sleeper for my two babies.

It was like a bassinet-sized P'n'P and much more expensive. And less easily cleaned since it was white cotton fabric upholstery.

I liked the small size. I didn't keep the side down for co-sleeping. Just at the side of the bed where I could pick up the baby quickly.

It was better for travel and hotel rooms.

We still did a medium-deluxe PnP after the 3rd month and I liked that fine. It had a newborn cot insert and I think a diapering tray we did not use.

I wouldn't spend more than a PnP.

Make sure the model is collapse-proof. Children's products have lots of recalls.

I thought the same as you, but ended up replacing our Graco Pack and Play with the insanely expensive BabyBjorn because we live in a small apartment and I can slide the BabyBjorn under a crib/bed whereas the Graco doesn’t fit. It was worth the $$$ to not lose half a closet.

In my experience, the bougie Euro stuff is better designed for small spaces.

I just bought a middle of the road Gracco PnP for a family member who is going to be visiting with a baby regularly - and that sucker was ready to go out of the box in 5 minutes!

It's bulky-ish, but not too bad.

But also, there are a never ending array of more expensive baby products that provide minimally improvement over the less expensive gear - my splurge was on a nursing chair that didn't look like it was from Cracker Barrel.

Oh my gosh yes. We hated our Graco PnP and bought a more expensive one that was a lot easier to set up and take apart. Are they no longer such a monstrosity?

The Baby market has really figured out how make parents associate expense and luxury to being good parents. Sure, there are some things that are worth it if you plan on having lots of kids. A solid quality stroller, for example. But it doesn’t need to be expensive to be a quality long lasting stroller.

Something like a pack and play does not need to be expensive to keep your child safe and secure.

The baby market sees new parents as suckers willing to pay for nonsense. And they do!

I had both and liked my clunky old one for travel. I kept a fancier one at home because I liked having a changing table on the first floor. Wasn't as fancy as the uppababy one though.

This. Some of them are smaller than a standard pack n play which means it takes up a smaller footprint which can be helpful in small hotel rooms. If you travel alot having a pack n play folds and carries like a backpack can make things alot easier. We had the standard big one and I wish we had invested in a smaller lightweight one. It would have been so much easier to travel with.

My parents gave us a Baby Bjorn. It was nice that the Baby Bjorn was lighter and set up so easily. However, it is still a bulky thing to lug around and isn't small enough to carry on a plane. Honestly, we would have been totally fine with just the Pack and Play that was handed down to us. And we passed on that Pack and Play to my sister - she didn't want the Baby Bjorn because it doesn't have a bassinet option.

There is really no difference, especially if you're just using this thing for travel.

We’re traveling soon and buying a basic Graco pack and play at target when we arrive to use as a crib.

But I see that Uppababy and other brands have very expensive pack and plays.

What’s the difference? What do you gain from paying $350 instead of $60 for a corral that folds up for transport?

I have tried reading through the descriptions of fancy ones but they don’t seem to have anything that’s actually different
