Today I learned that my oven automatically shuts off after 12 hours.
Good to know it has that as a safety feature.
I am cooking a 12 pound pork roast, with the oven set at 225 degrees, which apparently is going to take 16 hours before the meat gets to 190 degrees.
I checked the roast at the 11 1/2 hour mark, saw it needed about 3 more hours. So I took a shower. When I checked the roast again at the 13 1/2 hour mark, I discovered my oven had automatically shut off.
So now, here I am, 15 hours after I put it in the oven, still waiting on the roast to be done. It's almost there.
