Here are some suggestions that may assist you. You don't have to try them all. Just pick a couple of them that work best for your child's needs.

1. Practice the SAT Reading and Writing section on Khan Academy. https://www.khanacademy.org/test-prep/sat-reading-and-writing

2. The College Board website has a SAT Question Bank where you can study questions from the Reading and Writing section.
https://satsuitequestionbank.collegeboard.org/digital/results

3. Bluebook SAT Prep Practice Tests

4. Quizlet is great for studying SAT vocabulary words. https://quizlet.com/57525022/sat-vocabulary-flash-cards/
Or you can purchase a box of SAT Prep Vocabulary flashcards.

5. Linus is a great SAT Prep App is it similar to Duolingo https://linusprep.com

Honestly, Khan Academy and the College Board SAT Question Bank were both beneficial to my child.

Don't listen to the tart naysayers.

Study WHAT the SAT tests you on. English conventions, vocab, etc.

Then learn how to take the test. Learn how to eliminate answers, etc. How much time each question should take. How much time to devote to a longish passage. What the SAT folks always test you on; what they rarely test you on.

Spend a couple of weeks only on this.

Then study for the test's content.

The most effective way to improve verbal is taking AP lang, AP lit, or other AP humanities. Often 100 point jump after taking these courses.

In our school district, at least, they barely teach grammar. That's relatively easy for kids to study for. Reading comprehension and vocab, on the other hand, are much harder to bring up in a short amount of time. Have your kid do a college board practice test and after, there will be a link to practice questions in their problem areas.

1) Read more, focusing on reasonably difficult works, a mix of fiction and nonfiction
2) Take a bunch of SAT practice tests and carefully review any missed questions.

Maybe try reading books?

You need to find out what your kid got wrong and go from there.
