Unsolicited, our DC last week emailed their grades to AOs at ED school and EA schools. Counselor also uploaded to “optional report” slot in common app.

Our high school is on semesters so official grades don’t come out until early January. For ED1, if mid semester grades are impressive should we send the report ourselves via email to admissions officer or ask the counselor to send? (This is a mid semester report, not official semester report card)

We did send the first quarter grades to ED1 though DC's ED1 school does not require these grades. Many counselors recommend sending first quarter to ED1.

After ED1 acceptance/deferral, school counselor will continue sending first semester and final grades to ED1 school.

Some ED1 schools require quarter / mid-semester grades, but they don’t expect to see end of semester grades before the decision. They will still require semester and end of year grades after acceptance though, to make sure student stays on track

My kid’s portal showed “first term grades” as still needing to be submitted after kid submitted an ED1 app. It said right there how to do it (please have the school email them to…) and after school did, it shows done.

ED2 decision is about 4-6 weeks after the ED2 app deadline so there’s time for the college to get semester 1 grades. If high school is using Scoir or Naviance, counselors will typically upload updated mid year transcripts for all students in Jan (and then again in June)

Our school automatically sends the first semester grades to ALL schools having an application pending, kids can't opt out. So yes the ED2 school will receive the first semester grades.

Hi! Kid is applying ED2 using common app and the applications is due before his first semester Senior grades are reported. There will be about a week lag time of the transcript update. We want this school to see these grades as they are going to be his best grades yet with several APs. Have you dealt with this and how? Do we follow up by contacting the admissions officer? Does his counselor resend his transcript? Thanks for your advice!
