That mismatch in numbers could just as easily be due to the fact that it’s pretty easy for most women to get laid. Also women tend to be less visual, so women find looking at men less interesting than men find looking at women.

Let me tell you a story that just happened to me (woman). I’m interested in a man who said he can see me only when other people are present - because if we are left alone, we’ll get intimate quickly, and he’ll emotionally attach to me because he knows himself, and he doesn’t want to attach because he doesn’t want to date at this moment (difficult life/health situation).

I’d be fine with being intimate with him regardless of any potential relationship because there is strong mutual chemistry, and I don’t attach through intimacy.

Definitely women.

There's a very successful movie series about how men will basically have sex with an American Pie if needed. And I don't think they're particular about the pie being American.

Equally important to both, but really more important to men.

Men get legitimately pissed off, moody and distant if they aren’t having regular sex. For men, Other ways of connecting (talking, cuddling, quality time together) do not make up for lack of sex. Sex is a must-do for men.

A lot of women can totally take it or leave it with sex. Really not a necessity. However….. women do want an emotional connection with men. There are lots of ways women could get this emotional connection from men - talking, quality time, cuddling etc. However, paradoxically, men will only make themselves emotionally available when they’re having sex. See above. So while women are theoretically okay to emotionally connect through a variety of outlets, practically women need to have sex with men to find an emotionally available man.

The end result: men and women who need sex equally. But only because men need sex. Women don’t need sex. But they need sex because they need men and men need sex.

You can't generalize like that based on gender/sex.

It's a personality thing. Also an in the moment thing. Varies.

Research shows that women are usually more into the whole emotional connection thing when it comes to sex.
A lot of women want to actually feel close to someone to really enjoy it, while guys are more likely to just separate the physical and emotional stuff.
Many surveys back this up. Women care more about trust and intimacy in the bedroom.
Man are willing to stick their D into anything as long as it makes them ejaculate.
Women won't let a D into their P unless they feel some emotional connection.

Is sex more important to women or men?

Of course the answer is both. But is it fair to say women connect more through sex compared to men?

For instance, the way men (of course there are exceptions) become completely disengaged as soon as they ejaculate lead me to believe men don't necessarily derive as much emotional connections as women do during and after sex.
