I’m always a little embarrassed when I pick mine up at the pharmacy. It’s a weirdly intimate relationship we have with pharmacists.

To the PP who asked, vaginal estrogen is really for the “down there” effects — thinning of vaginal walls, keeping PH balanced, preventing UTIs, etc. You need a patch or gel for the more systemic effects. Then, if you are doing a patch or gel, you’ll likely take oral progesterone too.

If you have had hormone receptive cancer you don't use systemic sny more. Oncologists say 1 mg 2 times a week is fine.

PP here, doesn't that not get as high up as it should?

That's my impression and my gyn says use applicator but some DCUMers use finger.

PP, I had the same problem and tried using a little less in the applicator and it worked. I think part of my reaction was sitting in it as it oozed out (ew) and not realizing it or being out and about and unable to do much about it. I went down to 1 from 1.5 and I think more absorbs or something.

I’ve had such a bad reaction to the cream. Itchy and red down there. Doctor prescribed medicine for yeast infection but this keeps happening when I use the cream. So frustrating.

Just searched. I cannot believe people use single use applicators. Huh?

The one that comes with my meds says to wash and reuse. I did for a while but it was gross, so I also bought the disposible ones on Amazon

Is it for localized symptoms or is this just a good way to get estrogen in? I’m also new to this whole thing and have an appointment next week with doctor so wondering what is in store!

Embarrassing picking it up at the pharmacy today.
