They say if you aren't attractive enough to make it in acting to go into politics. They are actors acting. They are not distraught. They have the No vote on their record that they needed, but no longer have people pressuring them to end the shutdown AND they get to continue dangling the healthcare issue to motivate their voters. This is exactly what they all wanted, and anyone telling you otherwise is lying to you.
you’re utterly ridiculous if you think some of these members don’t care.

This seems likely. For as long as they've been my senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine have been in lockstep on just about every issue. But Warner is up for re-election in 2026 while Kaine isn't up until 2030.

I'm shocked so many people seem to be grasping that they constantly play these political games using people as leverage for the very first time. Hopefully this realization helps people see these games for what they are more frequently in the future.
We need to elect people interested in governing, who will prioritize the needs of the people they are supposed to represent, NOT prioritizing their next campaign and the companies and wealthy donors funding it.
The fact that Republican politicians are cruel liars taking their voters for a ride does not inherently make the Democrats moral angels always looking out for us. ALL of the current crop of politicians in power are captured and corrupted and need to go.
