Supplying teenagers with alcohol is not a "to each their own" situation. You have piss-poor judgment.

we have a family in our neighborhood who does this. They have had the police called on them, talked about on the neighborhood listserv and their daughter has had most of her friends banned from hanging out with her.

I am hearing a rumor that she is a FCPS employee and someone contacted her employer about the illegal activity with the police reports attached.

A girl in our community was SA at a party like this by a "family friend". You are gross.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

I agree with OP too.

You're never going to stamp this issue out though and it's gotten way worse with this current generation. Somehow all the overbearing, helicopter parenting leads to this. I think it's a co-dependency, too enmeshed with the kids problem. Being their friend instead of their parent. Feeling like it's safer and better to have them all drunk in the basement. The illusion of control.

If you know of someone specifically doing this, you should report them to the police. It's the only way it stops.

Another week...another thread about drinking.

Can't anyone do a simple search?

To the parents who allow kid drinking and marijuana use to happen “safely” in your homes, there’s something wrong with you and I hope you get exposed.

My issue isn’t that they let their kids drink and get high. Whatever do what you want. My issue is that by SECRETLY creating a safe space for kids to drink themselves to oblivion in your home AND you’re helping my child deceive me AND you are assuming responsibility where you have none and likely won’t claim responsibility.

I say SECRETLY because you people never admit to other parents that you do this. You never drop in the parent group chat “oh by the way, just so you know, we’re cool with our kids drinking for many reasons and if you’re not cool with it, don’t let your kid come to my place”

Why not own it???
A lot less parents would be pissed off and guess what. You’ll find your people. Other parents that get shitfaced daily and encourage their kids to drink (in moderation of course because we’re sure you’re down their in the basement keeping tabs on how many shots the 13 year olds have had).

My daughter’s school is currently up in arms over this and it could all be resolved by parents simple being honest with other parents.
