Oh no, their keys are missing. Oh no, their work ID is missing. Oh no, you dropped the dish they brought and now their side dish is ruined.

If no one else notices then the problem is you.

"WOW, Diane. That's a weird observation. No, these are my natural breasts. What's wrong with you?"

Stomping means you’ve done something objectively wrong that they can call out. You either fight fire with passive-aggressive fire or you pretend not to understand any of their jibes. That will drive them crazy because their goal is to make you feel bad.

No, stomping on people is not the way to manage this.

I said I'm not planning on it! I was just curious if it would be effective. Genuinely.

Effective at what? Making them realize you are a nut job?

People who go around getting offended like you have a screw loose.

No way. I know two people who got broken toes from being stepped on. Far better ways to handle without physical violence.

Just say “what do you mean by that” in front of others. They will try to squirm, so dig deeper. “ I still don’t understand. Are you implying…?”

Just be passive aggressive back? Push all their buttons mentally?

Talk to them one-on-one to straighten them out.

If you do it in front of the "herd" then they might take your side, or might think you unhinged and crazy.

Do it one-on-one, and really scare them straight, then if they go to the group, the groupl would think her unhinged and be like "Oh little ole Sally, she's such a quiet sweetie! You are cray!"

Wait, this doesn't really belong in the relationships forum either. Nevermind. Please respond to this.

I'm sorry, ignore. I meant to post this in the relationships forum. I'm reposting there. Don't respond to this.

A friend of mine suggested you step on their foot really hard and then apologize profusely, that way they look insane if they start ranting about you, the same way you'd look insane if you started ranting about their passive-aggressive behavior.

I wouldn't do such a thing, but curious what you guys think about the effectiveness of such a move.
