Same for me, OP. Maybe I'm having a midlife crisis, but I increasingly feel like an alien and on a different page than most. Everyone is heralding AI and technology this or that and I think those things have wrecked/are wrecking our society. We are collectively getting dumber and less able to think as individuals and that's absolutely frightening. I have greatly decreased the amount of news I consume, but I don't have a lot of hope for the future. Getting outside and for regular cardio and doing creative projects helps.

I am the same OP. It just seems like everyone around me is dealing with something, life has a lot of stress and there just isn't a lot of positives and joy in life.

I used to always feel obligated to answer everyone in a "helpful" or serious way. Catholic school and guilt and all that.

Then I grew up, took some painful hits in life and now I embrace levity. My first instinct is never to be helpful now but funny. Sometimes falls flat, but I'm amused.

Pets. I think it’s impossible to not find joy in a kitten playing or dogs smiling at you!

In addition 4, 6, 8 (deep breath 4 seconds hold your breath for 6 seconds and exhale for 8 seconds) breathing exercises for 5 minutes in the morning and 5 minutes in the evening and outdoor hikes.

I can’t feel light and bubbly! Life feels grim and dour and like I’m walking around carrying this big weight. I don’t know how to not be like this!
