Do you actually have offers at both?

Starbucks has pretty good benefits, not sure about lululemon.

What a strange question.

Starbucks is very hard and high stress. Lululemon is easy but I’ve never seen anyone over 30 working there.

You will be busier at Starbucks. Retail can have long stretches where nothing happens though they will probably have you re-folding, unpacking and hanging clothes too. I prefer to be busy. I'd rather be slammed than stand around but that's a personal preference. At a restaurant you get regulars who can be fun to see often. There's more of a local gathering feel to it. You'll deal with some weirdos more often than in a store but you'll deal with the entitled there, so pick your poison. I prefer weird to entitled. Stores can be boring and if you're alone at the desk, very boring. Or you chat with co-workers, some of whom you may not like and there are fewer of them. You will be on your feet all day in both jobs. Get comfy shoes.

You will spend your paycheck at Lulu. If you are doing it for extra money, go with Starbucks.

My DS works in a boutique grocery store. Shifts are five hours long. He gets a 30% discount. I think it’s a pretty good gig and would do it myself a couple times a week if I could.

Does Lululemon have an employee discount

Coffee shop work can be a bit of a grind, standing behind the counter most of the time filling orders. Never worked in a clothing shop but it seems easier.

You will deal with a larger volume of people at Sbux, but your interactions will be mostly incredibly brief. So factor that in. Probably annoying clients both places.

But my biggest advice as someone who has worked in similar places, is pick the one with the best, most professional and organized manager. Not the friendliest or nicest manager, the best one. You want someone who gets schedules out on time, who will protect employees from nasty customers or stupid corporate policies when necessary, who will be professional and just do their job, and not worry about being friends with everyone. If you can find a manager like that, either place can be perfectly tolerable, even nice.

Starbucks workers often seem really busy and sometimes stressed. Is the pay very similar?

LULU is an easier job.

Hours are not as early as Starbucks can be.

Both are great though

They both would have obnoxious clientele but Lululemon should be less of a grind.

Almost 40 female, AA fwiw, considering a PT opportunity at these two. Which seems to have the more difficult clientele or would be the choice you would pick or avoid?
