Yeah, it's a shame. I got pulled into responding to some of the negativity. In reality, it should be congratulations to the local players that have been called into training camp. When players are getting to these types of camps, there is only so much of the political jumbo that can be considered - meaning, these young women need to be able to deliver it on the field and are being selected for that! Let's go!

Thanks boy parent for dumping on the girls. When there are (5) Mid-Atlantic based boys called up to the USYNT team camp, check back in with us, ok?

Seriously, I get it. The games and play is different between boys and girls right? But some of it is comparing levels of play. I can tell you that I would much rather watch my DD's U17 ECNL team play than my son's HS team. They are night and day different with their understanding of the game, tactics, style of play, etc. Her team plays at such a higher quality than his...but, you be you!

What are you saying? I stand by the statement I made - the quality of soccer that is played with my DD's U17 ECNL team is so much higher that what was played at my son's HS team it's not even close. The goalies at HS spent the entire game punting it back and forth and if they did happen to play out of the back, the defenders would entirely try to skip the mids and play it long to a forward streaking down the sideline. There was no thought, no tactics at all. I think that if there was a sequence where they connected more than 3 passes in a row, it was worthy of a celebration.

Look, my son's HS team was not great compared to some of the privates in VA and in our area as well. They made the VHSL playoffs once at of his 9th to 12 grade years there. And then it was by pure luck of having a couple of kids that knew what they were doing. It's telling that they had his senior hear, they had (2) ECNL players - the highest that was available to us here as there is no MLSN teams - that attempted to play with them and saw what a shitshow the soccer was and quit after a couple of games.

It's a great accomplishment for these girls who work very hard. There will always be bitter people who want to tear down those who are successful to make themselves feel better.

These are individual accomplishments. I wish people didn't try to read into it as saying something about the club or league they happen to play at.

LOL. Given the fact that 95% of the talk on this board is related to girls soccer, that's assumed IMO. The other 4% is random soccer topics and 1% is boys and that is mostly the crappy academy program at DCU.

Very cool! Yes, nice to see a slight shift from California to the Mid-Atlantic. Congrats to those players.

VDA, RU and Arlington represented plus (2) from NC Courage. The much maligned MA not doing too bad.

Good Luck to the young women selected!

Where’s Revolution? Where’s Loudoun? Where’s NVA?

Call me ECNL hat if you want (DD plays for GA club for geographical convenience - I could not care less about labels) but the truth is the truth.

VDA constantly popping out in the news for national players being called up to different countries.

Why do you feel you need to justify ECNL vs GA on here? This conversation is about congratulating the girls who made it. Why try to turn this into another debate? Can't you just be happy for them and leave it at that? Does it make you feel better to bash the GA?
