We traveled through Norway on land. Used "Up Norway" for the trip and highly recommend. They can customize the trip to whatever you are looking for and whatever budget you have.

Contact Vacations To Go and Pavlus for advice and pricing. Both are established online agencies which rebate back substantial amounts of their commissions to their customers. Both are high-volume operations, familiar and experienced with most cruise lines at different price points.

Thank you for the feedback MSC vs. Celebrity (the two that offer the best itineraries during the timeframe we can cruise). Both have new ships that look great Celebrity APEX and MSC Euribia. I know there are many more passengers on MSC.

Re: rough seas - it depends where and when you are going. This PP probably watched a YouTube video about the Viking incident and swore off cruises there, which is silly. Do you really think that all of the Norway cruises each year make people sick? We did the "Viking Homelands" cruise on Viking from Bergen in 2024 which spent a week in Norwegian waters and it was great. See Cruisecritic.

Is this true? I keep seeing ads for MSC and their ships look great!

MSC has a lot of variability in their ships. The newer ones are tempting - they are big beautiful ships like World Explorer and have been getting better reviews. I would steer clear of the older ones.

What's more important to you Op, the cruise or seeing Norway well?

If you are considering a cruise, you need to become familiar with the different lines and ships. There are plenty of websites that have lots of cruise information out there.

You don't need a travel agent to help you, but if you do, just get a general cruise travel agent as they would know about Norway cruises.

I’ve been looking at this too and my preliminary thought is that the big cruise ships don’t do Norway well and are hated there. I did consider Hurtigruten but it is very much NOT your typical cruise ship

Watch some YouTube videos of cruises in Norway. Long story short: very rough seas.

I love cruising but I’ll never do a cruise in Norway.

The cruise ships of the size you're thinking of will not be able to travel into the most beautiful areas. I would recommend doing your own land tour. There are lots of small tour boats making trips between points on the Fjords.

Costco does Celebrity I think. They won’t have advice for what excursions to do but you can probably get that on cruisecritic (or facebook)

Can anyone recommend a NORWAY CRUISE TRAVEL AGENT? Someone to help with cruise booking, excursions, etc. Looking to book a Celebrity or MSC cruise. Open to doing a land tour instead. Thank you.
