Wow, great ideas! Yes he can be active, it was the pounding running combined with scoliosis that just wasn't doable any more.

Tickets to a show at Wolf Trap or Merriweather? Or a bucket list location. Within driving distance? Gettysburg if he likes history. Or NYC to see a show?

Fleecy headband earmuffs?

A set of paints, brushes and a canvas, w a clipping for an intro painting class at NGA or through your county?

An ergonomic or other footrest for under his desk?

Even though your husband has spinal issues - can he still be somewhat active??

I am asking this because I think an experience gift 🎁 may be a good idea since he has enough things per se.

For example, how about tickets to a music group concert that he is a fan of?
Or if he has a favorite comedian tickets to see a comedy show locally may bring a smile to his face.

If you want him to have a tangible gift that he can unwrap on Christmas morning then perhaps you can put the tickets in a small, attractive gift box tied w/a pretty bow.
You can also add in a T-shirt or a book relating to the person or group you have tickets to see!

New sneakers

Take a trip together, sign him up for a walking adventure (local easy hike), wine class, photo album or calendar of your special times together

I’d go for experiences. By 70’s people usually have the things they want and need.

What does he like to do? Hobbies? Does he watch sports? Some kind of memorabilia for a favorite team?

My go to for my impossible to shop for Dad in his 70s was usually a bottle of nice booze. Sometimes he liked weird little desk tchotchkes.

My parents are your husband's age. They're getting more sensitive to cold, so I got them battery-heated vests.

Trekking poles? Like how serious a walker are we talking about?

Maybe a good wide brim hat for long walks? Tilley is a good brand for this.

Dies he like crossword puzzles or other game books? Jigsaw puzzles? Tickets to something? Museum membership?

I need gift ideas for DH for the holidays. It's our tradition he gets 8 presents.
I always get him a desk calendar, wall calendar, chocolate covered mac nuts. That's 3.
I also have 2 pairs of waffle knit PJs he said he wanted. That's 4 or 4 and 5 if I get desperate.

He is 73. Not a runner anymore (spinal issues) but fit and an avid walker. Doesn't listen to music anymore except in the car, where we have Sirius. He has many unread books on his (new last year) iPad. He has a brand new iPhone and Apple watch. His laptop is new.

I used to get him running stuff but that's out. He has drawers stuffed with socks and underwear from the last 2 years. He WFH and has lots of khakis and polos. He mostly wears sweatpants (has lots) and fleeces (has lots).

I used to get books but he's got plenty unread. He has subscriptions to all the periodicals and streaming services he's interested in.

I am drawing a blank. Help!
