It is better for the skin to apply an electric razor compatible pre-shave liquid to the face just before shaving.

My kids don't like electric razors.

My older son rarely uses his.

My younger son shaves his lip with a blade with no handle.

Give your DS a handmade coupon "good for" a razor of his choice. Then take him to Target or Amazon to pick it out.

If your husband can't help or doesn't support this, skip it. This is a personal choice - like a wallet - you might get it right or get something he can't use at all.

We got one for my son last Christmas. He finally started using it this past summer. It was a great gift! For reference, my son was almost 15 when he received it.

I (divorced, co-parenting mom) got my DS a Norelco OneBlade and quietly placed it in a spot in the bathroom where he would see it. He uses it as needed.

A Christmas gift would've been awkward but all parent-kid relationships are different.

I think I just bought one from Target that was reasonably priced and had decent reviews. DS likes it fine. It was $30 or $35.

Amazon reviews will solve this for you in about 90 seconds.

OP here, it wouldn't be a main gift. Stocking stuffer, I did ask his Dad and have gotten no response. Kid is starting to look scruffy.

I don't think grooming tools count as gifts that a tween boy would like to receive.

I am thinking of getting an electric razor for my son for Christmas. Does anyone have any recommendations for ones that they purchased or other buying advice?
