I was homeschooled and I took AP exams at DeMatha and the Severn School. You have to call around and find a school that is offering the AP you want to take and will agree to register a student from another school. It's a pain.

Not FCPS. Even their own students can’t self study for exams.

No because SAT’s registration is through College Board and anyone can do that. AP is through the schools.

Huh? This is no different from most schools. If your kid self studied for an AP exam not offered at their school or which the kid didn’t take at the school, most schools wouldn’t offer the exam to that student.

OP: this has been asked before on these boards with no answer that worked. My guess is you will need to travel elsewhere to accomplish this.


Lots of schools will administer an AP exam even if they don’t offer the class.

Does sound like GDS.

That sounds like GDS.

Many other local privates will allow (at least) their students to sit any desired AP exam. It might be worth asking at any nearby privates.

Many schools will order tests for their own students, even if the student is taking it independently. Check with your school’s test coordinator. If you are home schooling, call the public school you are zoned for.
