Why does this matter if you just started a new job?

(Maybe I'm stupid and don't know how this works. I have so far managed to avoid Linkedin completely.)

Know an exec who used this company. The head shots are creative enough but also c suite enough

I like these!

I think this is the general idea. I’m not C-suite yet but I wanted to be myself and promote my values (sustainability) so I wore a colorful vintage dress and took a photo outside. Whatever your industry is and the image you’re trying to project (personal brand) should be subtly in there.

There are services where you take your own photo on your iPhone and it gets polished by human beings (not AI). That could be a convenient option.

To be in line creatively with everyone else, get the photographer from the annual retreat

OMG. That's what you get OP for crowdsourcing this. You are a CMO. Chief Medical? Marketing Officer? Have your company pay for a photographer for all as a marketing investment. Get a creative one who earns their fee by having suggestions.

If you have a photographer rec, please share!

That’s what I’m afraid of! I’m in my 50s. I don’t want to look slick online and then be my obvious age in person. I hate that.

Ask somebody from the Comms team or a hip youngster to take a picture of you in front of a decorative wall.

A lot of our execs do a picture in front of an interesting wall or lobby fountain in our historic building.

I can’t decide. I feel self conscious with a photographer, so many try first with my phone. But if you have a rec, I’d love it — especially if they have a good gallery, and maybe it would be someone that I’d feel ok with.

Started a new role as CMO and my current headshot is ancient. Anyone have good examples to share? So many just look cheesy or AI-ified. I’m in a creative agency — no suits involved, ever, on anyone; everything I’ve found online just looks too slick or too amateur. I’m in my 50s and the oldest person in the company, so I also just feel a bit old to be doing this! The rest of the company did theirs at the last annual retreat, which was just before I started work.

Suggestions?
