Agreed, though I'd also encourage waiting until after high
school. There's a lot of adult stuff that comes with sex and most high schoolers aren't ready or responsible enough for all of it.

+1 My parents didn't know when I lost my virginity and actually assumed it was a lot earlier than I did.

I'm (nominally) Lutheran and my parents didn't wait until marriage, and they told me that. Their advice to me was to wait until it was with someone you love, which I did.

Nope. Our religion has a year long sex education class for 8th graders that teaches everything but with an abstinence now mindset.
