Let’s be real, nothing is happening before the new year.

Their goal was to traumatize federal workers.

He hates Obama and wants to destroy ACA. We can’t let health insurance premium more than double. They expire on December 31.

Republicans need to grow a pair and put forth a budget that can be voted on.

If they don’t healthcare goes up on January 1, and then there is nothing in the bill that the Democrats are against so a continuing resolution can be voted on.

Not true that bill is not clean. It gives Trump more power this is not only about healthcare in that bill.

The ATC are going to figure out they have a lot less leverage because technology tools have allowed capacity to shrink without major disruption. Thanksgiving will be a mess, but I doubt the administration cares — its base doesn’t fly commercial — MAGA will road trip to Grandmas one town over, and the wealthy fly private (and are generally gone the whole week before it hits fan)). Geographic mobility of Trump voters is much more restricted, about 75% live in state they grew up in according to ChatGPT.

That’s silly. No one flies private except the uber uber rich and they have to share the runway and be guided by ATCs too. Unless they’re flying between their personal helicopter pad and a tiny rural airport.

Trump only really cares about the uber rich, have you not been paying attention?

Yes they can fly to untowered airports 30 miles outside the metro and then helicopter in. But they aren’t rescheduled to the same degree as a cancelled flight.

Did your program have to run it by OMB and they approved it? Mine tried to do the same but was rejected by OMB.

I have been furloughed but was recently called back to do “excepted” work. In my view, the work I did should not be classified as “excepted,” but I guess our leadership is not going to let the shutdown block their agenda.

So the Senate will want to get out of town by Thanksgiving. That’s hopeful, if the House would actually come back.

I started working FT last week and will get paid going forward. Back pay will be paid when the government opens. This sort of emergency triage is so stressful, sloppy and expensive. It doesn't allow us to do any planning or preparation. We're just plugging the leaks until a new one springs up.

The other thread got locked because it got derailed but I liked seeing the updates and speculations on when we will open.

I’m a fed working full time unpaid. Anyone have any ideas or insider knowledge for how much longer this goes for?
