Subject: Do you hang out alone with your husband or wife’s best friend? What type of relationship do you have with this person?
I was with my best friend when she met her husband. We were 17 at the time.
He and I have always gotten along really well in a very platonic/brother-sister way. We both like Star Trek, used to enjoy drinking a bit more than was good for us, have a similar sense of humor.
We don't hang out one on one very much but neither of us would feel weird about it.

I mean I can’t see why not but also I wouldn’t think of it? I barely get one on one time with my closest friends.
But like, if they had two tickets to something and my spouse was sick and could I go instead? Sure! Or idk what but like, it certainly wouldn’t be a barrier.

I would hang out in public (like at a kids' playdate) but wouldn't socialize one-on-one at either home to avoid any insinuations.

Sometimes has happened, but it's not respectful to do so on a regular basis if they are of the opposite sex, for obvious reasons.

Curious about what types of relationships people have with this person.
For example - DH BF “Joel” we’ve known since 2008/2009. Joel has babysat for us, I’ve babysat for Joel in the summers with his custody arrangement, Joel has taken us out for dinner or to bowl as a family but we have never gone out 1:1 nor chatted on the phone etc…
FWIW DH doesn’t spend time with my friends either. We do spend more time with Joel as a whole family than we have with any of my friends.
But I have friends who are much more involved 1:1 with the friends of their DH.
