For my kid, accepted to Dietrich, acceptance first, Honors about a week after, and merit a few days after that.

I'm a Pitt alum. My son applied 2 years ago when you still wrote a special essay. Wanted to point out that you can still participate in the programming no matter what. I think Pitt determined it wasn't productive to do so much extra app review given yield of high stats students.

"It is also important to note that many Frederick Honors College programs are open to the entire University population. For example, all students can apply for honors research fellowships and enroll in honors courses, even if they are not official members of the Frederick Honors College."

As I recall, you can apply to be part of the college after a semester or two. If you plan to get the honors degree. So that makes access to the Honors Dorm the main freshman perk.

Is that why they rent out a hotel to house students??

There was better than expected yield last year and I read that Pitt was planning to expand the undergrad population in the next couple of years.

Other posters said Pitt has used hotels before in overflow situations. That was not the case when I was in school.

That must mean everyone is accepted. Forget that it has a 50 percent acceptance rate.

4.0 weighted? That might not be enough for honors college, particularly TO.
