Absolutely. But again, seems more like gross negligence than murder per se. Many murderers who committed the act with intent have received lighter sentences.

Yeah it's weird. It's (unfortunately) a fairly normal thing for a lot of people to leave babies and toddlers in their car, while they sleep after coming back home. His intent was not to kill. It probably was not on his mind that it was so hot and this could have happened.

Other hot car death cases had much weaker fact patterns. He had a practice of leaving kids in the car to “babysit” them and do thing like here (watch porn).

Also, importantly, it wasn’t an accident at ALL that he left his child in the car. It was an accident that she died.

Yeah, he was inside his own house for over 3 hours while his daughter was in the car outside. That's not an accident.

I feel so sorry for those other kids.

There was also evidence he knew exactly when the car would automatically turn off/cut the AC because he did this so often.

In most cases, the parents did not intentionally leave the child in the car. Often, it is something like mom usually takes baby to daycare but dad had to do it one day. Drives to work on autopilot completely forgetting he has the baby with him and goes into his office for the day. That does not even involve negligence or poor judgment. Just 100% accident.

Honestly, he did the taxpayers a solid. Now we don't have to pay for his legal defense, housing, medical care, etc for the rest of his life.

This was a big topic here right after the little girl died 1.5 years ago. He intentionally left his 2 year old daughter in the car (in July in AZ!) while he played video games in his house. His other daughters (elementary age) told police that he had done this before.

Last May, he was allowed to take a family vacation to Hawaii!

Now he's dead.
