I don't know if I will be stable in another field either which is what my question is around. My career has been unstable. I always have a lot of work, always learning new things at work, but I lose my job due to organizational changes, changes in priorities, the department itself getting closed etc. AI has also caught up and younger people without much experience will be able to do what I do. Overall, I am experiencing a lot of stability in my core field which is the only field I have always worked in. There are many like me in the job market already. That's the reason why I started thinking about doing something different. It comes with a risk since I have young kids and no concrete experience at whatever that another field is. Grass is not greener for me on this side or the other side. I don't even know if there is grass!
