What happens after that is that these regions then get built into the boundary study, whatever that looks like. But they will assume that the region groupings will be true, then redraw boundaries accordingly.
If anything can change after Nov, it will be to advocate for BOE to say no to the final boundary study in the spring. But sorry, that ain't gonna happen. MCPS is backing the BOE into a corner - have to approve boundaries by next spring 2026 so that school(s) can open next fall 2027.
The regional model didn't have to be coupled with the boundary study, but that's how MCPS is forcing it in.
There are soo much details that they've been squirrely about so far that I'd be shocked they'd actually be able to fill in in 15 days. Like the number of seats per program, selection criteria, curriculum, etc. Is the BoE really going to approve this without getting any of those details?
