So you’re no longer appalled if someone wanted your kids to die so they could piss on their graves?

Just asking - because it’s a relevant question now, no longer in the abstract. He won. So that means statements like that are….. acceptable?

Trump has already made FAR worse acceptable years ago.

"I could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters, OK?"

"I don't even wait. And when you're a star, they let you do it. You can do anything. ... Grab 'em by the p---y. You can do anything."

“‘Laziness is a trait in blacks. It really is, I believe that.”

Apparently inappropriate statements by a politician have been acceptable for a while in this country.

Is it ok to brag about grabbing pu**y on video and to call the January 6 terrorists who killed/maimed police officers Patriots and fire those who prosecuted them? (Trump).
Is it ok to yell "Kill All Muslims" while drunk at a work event (Hegseth).
Is it ok to accuse Haitian immigrants without evidence of eating their pets (JD Vance)?
Is it ok to call cops Nazis and urge Jan 6 rioters to kill the police? (Jared Wise, Senior Adviser, DOJ)

Asking for a friend.

In normal times, I’d have been appalled by Mr. Jones’ comments and not voted for him. But now it seems acceptable to say and do whatever and still be elected. So I just voted in my own self interest.

Jay Jones won very narrowly over a much better qualified and experienced primary opponent who needed better oppo research. She wouldn’t have had the texts because the Republican who received them saved that for the general, but the speeding ticket and the lenient punishment were out there.

I agree with you but for now you can unregister to vote. Then decide in 3-4 year if you want to do this all over again.

Agree with better candidates and vetting. Also, I think candidates should have the good sense not to run if they know there's something out there to find.

However, you always vote for the least bad candidate. There is a never a perfect candidate.
