OP here. I love to make a gravy “base” and then just add the turkey drippings and whisk well. It’s so much easier than making it all day-of.

Different poster here, but I make the gravy base in advance as well and finish it on Thanksgiving day. I use an Ina Garten recipe from her “Make it Ahead” cookbook.
On a separate note, I’ve started a tradition whereby I serve appetizers and cocktails (cranberry martinis!) on Thanksgiving eve. It’s laid back and festive and we don’t have to venture out on what has become a big “going-out” night.
