Nah, it’s a great area and a good price for Moco. What I don’t get is how much people overpay for the W school districts. Way overpriced for what you get, and in no way competitive any longer with nicer areas around the country. But keep living in your fantasy.

Spoken like a pleb in a non-W MoCo school district. Houses west of Rockville Pike in Rockville/Potomac area in even the modest UMC areas are American dream type houses and W schools are elite. My neighbors here in Wootton cluster are construction executives and doctors, whereas people in most Silver Spring neighborhoods are like, teachers, nurses and accountants.

What awful, awful people!!

Idiot PP should be ashamed of themself.

Never said they were awful people. They just don’t make much money, and that’s OK.

Also I said most Silver Spring neighborhoods… I suppose Woodside is a little different. I just can’t for the life of me understand why folks with kids in that neighborhood wouldn’t just buy in a W school district, unless they send their kids to private, then MAYBE I get it. But still, being so close to sketchy DTSS as opposed to beautiful wooded neighborhoods within a short drive to areas such as Park Potomac and Pike & Rose is… curious.

To avoid people like you.

This lady posts all the time about "American Dream type houses."

It's weird because I think of the housing stock in Potomac as dated and unfashionable in a way that the older, classic housing stock in Chevy Chase (and Woodside actually!) isn't.

Pike and Rose is a mall with fake streets. It’s awful, like walking through a Cheesecake Factory. And I hate driving on 270.

If it helps, I was raised to look down my nose at anything outside the beltway.

Not everyone wants their kids at a W school. My kids had a great experience at Blair. No regrets.

In fact, I'd say that the Woodside area is probably similar in status to the more UMC sections of Rockville/Potomac.

Most people in the woodside area are lawyers, professors, NGO people, scentists. Not teachers and nurses, although there are some middle class and blue collar people who've lived there for 30 years

I live there and like it a lot! Old, small houses, but very friendly neighbors. Lots of families and lots of older couples. Kids range in age from babies to high school. Walking distance to the local elementary school, which is good. Very active neighborhood association with an email listserv. Walking distance to Snider's, Aldi, CVS, but still pretty quiet once you get away from Georgia Ave.

North Woodside/Woodside in SS. What's the vibe. Good area for families?
