I have been using Carbon app for the last couple of months and I like it. I did zero research on other options. I paid the yearly fee and I don’t think there is a free version but that is what I prefer with apps (you pay up front vs. with your data). The barcode scanner doesn’t always work but it is good enough.

I never would have thought that tracking calories would be so crucial in weight loss but this has made all the difference. I never can manage a “meal plan” where you are given a weeks worth of recipes to follow. But simply tracking carbs lets me eat in my own weird way(where I decide what I want right before my meal) with minimal planning (but I eat mostly healthy and have really restricted carbs.)

I switched from MFP to Chronometer when MFP made barcode scanning a paid feature. It’s annoying because I’d used MFP for years and have so many saved recipes, foods, etc, but the product and interface kept getting worse and they kept wanting more money.

I’ve used MFP off and on for years. It’s easy and I love how it tracks macros and vitamins/ minerals etc.

Seeing the recommendations for Lose It and wondering if I should switch. ?

MFP is terrible now. I'm bummed that I've invested so many years into tracking my calories there as I feel too invested to switch apps.

I’m using Cronometer. I like that I can scan the barcodes of products and it will automatically pull up the nutrition / calories of that item.

Does anyone use a calorie tracker app that they recommend? I’m not particularly interested in tracking fitness, etc. just calories. Thanks.
