Yeah I had someone at a dermatology office cause blistering/ scarring on my face. They probably used IPL which isn't the best for laser hair removal.

On my face, I'd pay the $1500 for the experienced dermatologist.

The cheap place is a NP at a dermatologist but she's new.

I'd go the $1500 route for my face
Good luck.

My question: has anyone ever had the treatment botched in such a way that resulted in permanent skin damage or scarring? Or is the technology pretty foolproof at this point?

Background: I've had excellent experience with laser hair removal on my legs, face and armpits over the past decade, in part because I tried to choose excellent providers with a lot of experience. Now I need another booster round on my face, and I could either get it done for $1500 by a doctor (which I can't really afford) or $500 by a relatively inexperienced nurse practitioner at a dermatologists office. I'm just worried I might regret going with the cheaper option.
