It's not new in my circles. Anecdotally, the people I know who have attempted this "career" are the last people I would seek out for advice about anything.

I also wonder this.

Plants talk without saying anything. They are honest.

These are all jobs women do when they are either unsuccessful in their 20s or have left their careers to have children. It is ironic.

I have more friends currently that are “health coaches” or “wellness coaches”.

It's a response to the burnout we're all feeling. It's also essentially therapy without insurance or a black mark on your record or you can write off as a business expense.

An executive assistant or a housekeeper would be more helpful than a life coach.

It's old.

It's what people do when they burn out on corporate jobs.

I know of 3 coaches in my LinkedIn network.

The newest trend is saying you're a "fractional" something. Like a "Fractional CMO". As in, do 1/30th of the work, get 1/30th of the pay.

Its not new, I remember a feeling like a ton of people were doing this around 2003. What's weird is that its usually women in their 20s, like what life experience do they have?!

I personally know at least a dozen people who claim to be life coaches. Is there a real void or is this just a new craze?
